Michelle Malkin - BITE ME
Michelle Malkin has been going batshit crazy again - this time over the disruption of an apparent terrorist cell in Canada by the RCMP.
Malkin, as usual, takes the opportunity to smear every last Muslim on the face of the Earth as evil terrorists worthy only of death, while taking time to smear the "librul" media for not going along to get along.
The natural assumption that conservatives make, of course, is that Christians don’t do this sort of thing. And not just any Christians - conservative Christians (you know, the only "true" kind of Christian, to hear them talk).
Let’s poke a little hole in that, shall we?
A right-wing "Christian" puts a $250,000 bounty on Michael Schiavo, with a $50,000 bonus for bagging Florida Circuit Court Judge George Greer. At the same time, another right-wing "Christian" breaks into a Seminole, Florida gun store in an effort to "take some action and rescue Terri Schiavo." (and with a box cutter, no less)
Three words: Eric Robert Rudolph
Three more words: James Charles Kopp
Two more words: Matthew Shepard
More recently, the oh-so-peaceful "Christian" conservatives sure acted really Christ-like towards the Dixie Chicks after Natalie Maines’ patriotically incorrect remarks about the Most Holy George W. Christ, didn’t they?
Going those thugs one better, there were the thugs who beat the daylights out of Kansas University professor Paul Mirecki for saying patriotically incorrect things about Intelligent Design.
And then there was the strange tale of Jacob D. Robida, who went all Scarface on a New Bedford, MA gay bar. (Let me assure you, the patrons were not happy to "Say hello to [Robida’s] little friend!")
And let’s not forget the case of one William Krar, who was caught red handed with "a sodium-cyanide bomb capable of killing thousands, more than a hundred explosives, half a million rounds of ammunition, dozens of illegal weapons, and a mound of white-supremacist and antigovernment literature." Included in the FBI’s haul: "fake identification badges, including Department of Defense and United Nations IDs," according to the Christian Science Monitor.
That’s right - fake UN credentials. You know, the organization that conservatives love to hate.
But that’s not even the most recent outbreak of actual or threatened violence. We now have word that a 25-year-old Maryland man has been arrested for threatening to bomb an abortion clinic and shoot the doctors inside. The only thing stopping him? His anti-abortion parents, ironically enough.
Update: Oh, and let’s not forget that there are a lot of "good Christian conservatives" running around with these plastered all over their 2 gallon/mile Explburbamers:
So, seriously. Let’s stop pretending that it’s only the Muslims that are the ultra-violent ones.
