This is interesting. When The Most Holy George W. Christ was throwing his petulant temper tantum in the Rose Garden the other day, CSPAN caught Vice President Perma-Sneer lurking in the background. Here’s the clip from YouTube:

Remember all those times conservatives castigated Europe for its socialist domestic policies? How those free-market fetishists are constantly saying that every single thing government does is 10000000000000000000000000% wrong, corrupt, etc. while every single thing private enterprise does is 10000000000000000000% right? Read it and weep, wingnuts. Your “privatize everything in sight and give oodles of kickbacks to corrupt CEOs who get multi-million dollar bonuses for driving their companies into the ground” policies have utterly ruined America, while the “socialist wackos” in The United States of Europe has pulled ahead of us because of it.

A couple of quick items for your perusal here. First, there was this AP article profiling environmental activist John Francis, who famously stopped speaking for 17 years in protest over the Slixxon-Valdezification of San Francisco Bay in 1971. For the most part, the article is an interesting read, detailing how, as a teaching assistant while seeking his Master’s Degree from the University of Montana during his "silent period," he developed his own personal sign language to teach the undergrads, and, after breaking his silence in 1990, defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the article also includes this piece of crap when talking about the event that sparked his silent protest:

Francis arrived in the hippie hot zone of Marin County in 1969 after growing up in Philadelphia. After two oil tankers collided beneath the Golden Gate Bridge in 1971, spilling black crude across San Francisco Bay, Francis decided to give up cars. Then, he stopped talking.

Because we all know that all environmentalists are really whacked-out ELF/ALF-types.

Meanwhile, CNN hands White House correspondant Suzanne Malveaux the “I Hate Democrats” stick, which she gleefully applies to liberals’ heads. Again and again and again.

Just another day at the office for your “treasonous, America-hating librul media.”

UPDATE: It appears that the “I Hate Democrats” stick has been passed on to the Washington Post, and from there on to Bill Kristol, both of whom apply it with as much eagerness as Malveaux.

No, seriously. How fucked up do you have to be to accuse Colonel Ann Wright of hating America, just because she disagrees with The Most Holy George W. Christ on torture?

Maybe it’s time you put down the glue you’ve been huffing for the last decade or so.

Well, it looks like the foot is coming off the ground to take that last step. It seems that right-wing theocrats aren’t content to just fling death threat-feces at artists these days. Let’s take a look at how these oh-so-peaceful members of the “Theocracy NOW!” crowd are making Jesus weep today.

First off, there was the recent mass-spamming threat from Melanie “Spocko’d” Morgan to at least two popular lefty blogs: Pandagon and Firedoglake. Check out this piece of sophistry for yourself and tell me that this isn’t a threat against the livelihood or, indeed, lives of anyone who dares speak out against The Most Holy George W. Christ (emphasis mine):

Leading anti-war senator, Barack Obama, announced this weekend that Congress will not insist on a timetable for withdrawal and surrender in Iraq after all. You’ve even turned off the more moderate members of your community who have helped me to be able to get this message sent out to you.

We will no longer tolerate the anti-war crowd subjecting America to more terrorist attacks as a result of the defeat-retreat-surrender policies you advocate.

You already have blood on your hands for emboldening the terrorists to kill our troops, we won’t let you endanger innocent American citizens here at home.

When you burn American soldiers in effigy you show us which side in the war on terror you stand on, and it’s obviously not with America and our military men and women.

We won’t back down as you try to appease the forces of Islamic terrorism. We won’t allow you to dishonor our troops as you try to reignite a Vietnamized-culture in America.

Yeah. I just love how she “politely” signs off after delivering that pile of projectile-vomit. Okay, hands up. Who else has received this?

But that’s not all! In the wake of the revelation that Mexico City is preparing to legalize abortion - a rarity in Latin America, given the region’s strong ties with the Catholic Church - abortion opponents have started baying at the moon. Pilfering tactics from classic protection racket depictions, they mutter darkly that “bad things could happen y’know what I’m sayin?” Yeah, right. As if anti-abortion violence occurs in a vaccum. Sure.

Ugh. Then there’s Michelle MalKKKin again. Malkin’s unhinged rant on terror drills that involve Christian terrorists instead of Muslim terrorists is yet another in a long line of her “kill all the Muslims” pea-soup-spewing episodes. “Using fake Christian terrorist groups to conduct terrorism response drills? That’s too PC! We all know that only Muslims commit terrorism, don’t we?” she whines (okay, only in a truth-serum injection sense, but that’s pretty much the gist of her op-ed). “I mean, Christians would NEVER resort to terrorism*, right?”

WRONG.

Tell me again how ONLY Muslims are incurably violent reprobates?

*Okay, that was the PowerWankers whining, but Michelle does have a history of the “plausible deniability” version of this sort of rhetoric.
