Watch for flying falafel and loofahs
MSRNC: Texas DA refuses to prosecute “To Catch a Predator” cases.
Honestly, I’m kinda divided on Perverted Justice’s tactics. While law enforcement can often seem ineffective, if not part of the problem, most of the time, they’re honest, well-meaning folks struggling to do the best they can with the limited resources they have to uphold the rule of law. At the same time, vigilante justice, well-meaning or not, is often little more than unfocused, mob-rule-style rage, and this tends to interfere with the objective forensics practices required to get criminals convicted in a court of law.
However, I am willing to admit that so far, Perverted Justice has yet to fall into this trap, and, for the moment at least, is a valuable tool in the struggle against online sexual predators.
Unfortunately, such considerations, much less that of massive hypocrisy, will never enter the ethical and moral calculus of a certain unindicted sexual harasser. Watch for The Falafel King to sic his flying ambush monkeys on Collin County DA John Roach sometime in the next week or so.
