Fredo knew.

MSRNC: Gonzales was told of FBI violations

And yet, he chose to lie his ass off to Congress anyway. If the Democrats had any balls…should I complete that sentence?*

Damn, I need a stiff drink. What say you, Bart? Any suggestions?

* With apologies to Bartcop.

The stupid! It burns!

Shorter Dennis Prager: The mere presence of any Muslim on the face of the planet, combined with the lack of forced conversion of all American citizens to fundamentalist, conservative Christianity (which we all know is absolutely perfect and would never engage in acts of genocide or other atrocities) is the sole source of all the world’s ills.

Speaking of clueless fucks in the media…

Michael Moore deservedly slams CNN and Wolf Blitzer for its fact-challenged hit job on SiCKO.

What’s worse, when suddenly placed on the defense by a liberal who won’t play Wolfie’s game of meekly accepting the blame for everything from the Biblical Fall of Man™ to male impotence, Blitzer, spluttering all the way, resorts to a classic Appeal to Authority fallacy: “Bu-bu-but…this was reported by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and he can’t be wrong!”

Now, granted, Dr. Gupta is well-versed in his field. I would absolutely trust his opinion in his field of expertise, which is the practice of medicine (particularly, neurosurgery). Now, when it comes to the actual business of medicine, he’s way off base, particularly in his critique of SiCKO, and Michael Moore rightly takes him to task on this issue.

Glad you could join the party, NYT.

in What Liberal Media?

NYT Editorial: “The Road Home” (07/08/07)

It is time for the United States to leave Iraq, without any more delay than the Pentagon needs to organize an orderly exit.

NYT Ombudsman Clark Hoyt: “Seeing Al Qaeda Around Every Corner” (07/08/07)

Why Bush and the military are emphasizing Al Qaeda to the virtual exclusion of other sources of violence in Iraq is an important story. So is the question of how well their version of events squares with the facts of a murky and rapidly changing situation on the ground.

But these are stories you haven’t been reading in The Times in recent weeks as the newspaper has slipped into a routine of quoting the president and the military uncritically about Al Qaeda’s role in Iraq — and sometimes citing the group itself without attribution. (Emphasis mine.)

Okay, this is great stuff guys. But seriously, where the fuck have you been?! We could’ve used some of this type of reporting, oh, I don’t know, FOUR-AND-A-HALF YEARS AGO!!!

So, what took you clueless fucks so long to get here? Were you too busy going all Chris Matthews on Commander Codpiece?

Well, at least NOW you’re on the same page as about 70% of America. To be fair, some of them were late comers to the “this stupid war is hurting America” party. Though not nearly as late as you. Maybe now you can start doing some of the heavy lifting by something utterly innovative as doing your fucking jobs!!!
