Broder’s boy gets a bounce in his handling of the war in Iraq in the latest NBC/WSJ poll - all the way to 30%!* Your “librul” media touts this as a major improvement.

The punishment for the crime of being a Muslim in America…

Washington Post: 9/11 Brings A Return Of Vandalism For Family

For Samira Hussein and her family, the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks began at 6:45 a.m. yesterday when they noticed that six tires on their Astrovan and Lincoln Continental had been slashed outside their Gaithersburg home.

Like many Americans, Hussein said, they knew the anniversary would bring sad memories. As Muslims of Palestinian descent, she said, they were frightened but not surprised that they would be targeted on such a day.

Complete this analogy: Patriot Day is to Muslims as Kristallnacht is to ____.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announces his resignation.

Darryl Worley sure as hell won’t write a song about it.*

Atrios on the 2001 Anthrax attacks:

I’ve long been fascinated by the erasure of the anthrax attacks - which, in their own way, freaked out the country more than 9/11 did* - from our collective memory.

*People object when I suggest this, but while the 9/11 attacks were of course The Big Ones, anthrax was this creepy shit which was KILLING US THROUGH THE MAIL. While most people didn’t expect a plane to fly into their building, the anthrax attacks created a heightened sense of OMIGOD THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ME. 9/11 was terrible, but the anthrax attacks were terrifying to people.

Allow me to spin a theory on the effective erasure of the anthrax attacks from public memory.

Point One: The attack was clearly an instance of domestic terrorism, as the anthrax turned out to be none other than the Ames strain from Fort Detrick. Since we all know only libruls commit domestic terrorism, this does not compute, and thus must be downplayed at all costs.

Point Two: The targets of the attack were prominent Democratic senators and members of the news media. Since the Democrat Party and the librul media are all subhuman scum, they are approved targets for terrorism, and thus their plight can be safely ignored. What’s that, you say? You don’t buy it? Why, I don’t thin-OHMYGOD! DID SOME DEMOCRAT COLD-COCK A TSA AGENT AND TAKE A DUMP ON HIS BODY?! AND OH, LOOK! BRITNEY SPEARS IS SHOWING HER COOTER AGAIN!1!!1!1!1!1!

* No Darryl, I won’t apologize for the reference.
