Bill Gates at the 2008 Winter CES (Warning: the volume is way down on these videos, so you may want to adjust your computer’s volume accordingly):

It should be noted that this is Gates’ last CES as head of Microsoft (Microsuck, Microshaft, whatever derogatory name you want to call ‘em for their monopolistic practices and sucky OS’s) - he’s retiring this summer.

Meanwhile, for the small-of-penis, Panasonic offers a 150-inch plasma TV.

Enjoy!

Dammit, Senator Edwards

Don’t make me regret coming out in support of you.

in What Liberal Media?; Adults in Charge?

The Statesman itself? Not so much.

So here’s the reason why I titled this post the way I did. From yesterday’s opinion section comes this Letter to the Editor:

I swear I will

Isn’t it odd that under the most blatantly religious administration ever, we have enshrined torture into national law? Next election, I’m voting for the atheist.

Tita [REDACTED]

Amen, sister!

I think Professor Myers would be interested in hearing this.

Obama 2008 = McGovern 1972

The figure was tall and gaunt, and shrouded from head to foot in the habiliments of the grave. The mask which concealed the visage was made so nearly to resemble the countenance of a stiffened corpse that the closest scrutiny must have had difficulty in detecting the cheat. And yet all this might have been endured, if not approved, by the mad revellers around. But the mummer had gone so far as to assume the type of the Red Death. His vesture was dabbled in blood — and his broad brow, with all the features of the face, was besprinkled with the scarlet horror.*

Alternate Shorter:

And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. And one by one dropped the revellers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.
