Keith announces that he’ll be doing another one on Sen. Clinton’s campaign tactics tonight:

I can’t wait.

There Will Be Ben Sargent’s Blood

May I play a brief game of “Democrats Eating Their Own” real quick? There’s been a bit of a ruckus at the local fishwrap recently over a Ben Sargent cartoon depicting Sen. Clinton as Daniel Day-Lewis’ character in There Will Be Blood.

While supporters of the junior senator were quick to criticize Sargent’s caricature, all of the criticisms that were printed were disturbingly fact-free. One claimed Sargent was “depicting Clinton as a crazed Nazi thug,” while another saw not a cheesy movie reference, but “an evil-looking hag” and a third likened the cartoon image to a “witch.” I wonder how many of these letter-writers bothered to look at the title of the movie being referenced (it couldn’t have been more obvious). I also wonder how many of these letter-writers took the time to notice that the words Sargent put into Sen. Clinton’s mouth were actually a quote from the movie. Would these same outraged citizens have understood the reference if the speech bubble had read “I drink Obama’s milkshake!”, or would they still be deliberately dense?

Hey Ibrahim, tell me, what do you think of Great Britain?*

Brits deny asylum for Iranian lesbian.

Tell me again how the More-Enlightened-Than-Thou Western world is NOT engaged in a Final Solution to the Muslim Problem™?

So Ibrahim, can you tell me, why did you come here?
What dream were you chasing, and what did you hope to find here?
Did you flee from your own native land because your life was in danger
Or were the reasons much more mundane, just poverty and hunger?

(Chorus)
Wrong path, wrong choice, wrong creed, wrong culture
Wrong place, wrong time, wrong dream and wrong colour

* With apologies to Eric Bogle.

New Manzanar

Good God:

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - A woman being held as an illegal immigrant spent four days forgotten in an isolated holding cell at a courthouse with no food, water, or toilet, authorities and the woman said.

So it’s come to this, has it? At long last, Immigration Warriors™, have you no sense of decency?

Wrong path, wrong choice, wrong creed, wrong culture
Wrong place, wrong time, wrong dream and wrong colour

Update: I’m sure Lou Dobbs would get a stiffy from reading this story.

Update II: Okay, I know this is way late, but I’d like to welcome Orcinus readers to the blog.

Takes one to know one.

So Dr. Laura was on the Today show talking about a subject related to the Eliot Spitzer case: “Why do men cheat?” Here’s what the “expert” on psychology and relationships had to say on the subject:

When the wife does not focus in on the needs and the feelings — sexually, personally — to make him feel like a man, to make him feel like a success, to make him feel like her hero, he’s very susceptible to the charm of some other woman.

Yes, you read that correctly. The little homewrecker blames women (and only women) for male infidelity. But then again, I guess she’s the authority on infidelity. (And yes, those would be the nude photos she blames on her “atheist period.”)

By the way, Dr. Laura, you did such a wonderful job with your son, there, didn’t you. He’s become such a fine specimen of humanity.</sarcasm>

And just think: millions of people depend on her to give them the Nancy Grace treatment to tell them how to think for sound relationship advice. I’d call her a flimflam artist, but that’d be insulting to flimflam artists.
