Our Stupid Discourse
In case you still harbored the delusion that the media even tolerates any thought to the left of Torquemada, here’s a brief side-by-side comparison of the coverage of the likely combatants this fall:
McCain gets a major British paper to spike coverage of Cliff Schecter’s book merely by smearing Schecter as “a super-liberal with a hate streak.”
Meanwhile, Newspeak Newsweek authors a hit piece on Obama declaring that “Bittergate” has hurt him, in spite of evidence to the contrary.
No wonder McCain is “very pleased with the relationship [he’s] had with the media over many years.” Must be nice to have the media openly eating out of your hand.
And giving you a handjob.
