PUMA, My Ass!
This bit of polling data does not look good for McCain and his base:
Obama leads McCain among registered voters, 47 to 41 percent, which is outside the poll’s margin of error.
But wait, there’s more! Digging into the numbers a bit more, one finds that Obama beats McBush in several key demographics.
-
Independents:
Obama: 41%
McBush: 36% -
Catholics:
Obama: 47%
McBush: 40% -
“Blue-collar” workers:
Obama: 47%
McBush: 42% -
Women:
Obama: 52%
McBush: 33% -
Hispanics:
Obama: 62%
McBush: 28%
Note that Obama wins two of those five demographic groups by what could be considered “landslide” margins (conservatively speaking). Also, not that these are all demographic groups that the “librul” media has already written off as permanently lost to Obama. And finally, note that this poll was conducted by the Wall Street Journal (jointly with NBC), whose editorial slant lists notably to starboard.
It sounds to me like the wounds are already starting to heal.
