I think it’s time for you to reprise your 2004 Eliminationism Chart for this election cycle. It’s already started:
MIAMI (Reuters) - A man with self-described mental health problems was ordered held without bail in Florida on Thursday on charges that he had threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama or President George W. Bush
Of course, given that this nut threatened both Obama and Bush, sorting out which end of the political spectrum gets the blame for his assholery is going to be difficult at best. I’d be tempted to put it in the Random Attention-Seeking Nutbar column, except for one thing:
A Secret Service affidavit said Geisel denied making the threats. But he told a Secret Service agent, in comments he later described a joke, that if he wanted to kill Obama he would simply shoot him with a sniper rifle.
Gee, that sounds strangely like the first half of a Double Reverse Malkin.
And let’s not forget that Obama has had Secret Service protection since May 2007 — the farthest in advance of an election that any presidential candidate in American history has been placed under such protection — precisely because of crap like this.
