As Jamo notes, Obama has two choices: 1) honor Fitzgerald’s request and delay the release of his internal investigation, and 2) fail to honor Fitzgerald’s request and potentially undermine parts of his corruption investigation. Obviously #2 would be the more suspicious course of action and would rightly raise the eyebrows of reporters. But fortunately our reporters know the rules of the new game, so #1 is a problem too!

Could someone remind these idiots that if Patrick Fitzgerald hadn’t asked Obama to hold off on releasing the contact records, he’d be committing prosecutorial misconduct — the same sort of thing that nearly ruined the case against Sen. “Series of Tubes?”

WHILE WE’RE ON THE SUBJECT: Could someone remind the idiots at CNN that Patrick Fitzgerald himself has cleared Obama and his campaign/transition staff of any wrongdoing in the Blagojevich scandal? And not only that, could someone remind them that the transcript of the wiretaps shows that no one within six degrees of separation of Obama did anything that might remotely be considered fishy?
