Really? REALLY?!
We’ve got a lot of really important problems facing our country: global warming, the (engineered) financial meltdown, a looming health care time bomb, two wars… No matter how you slice it, we’re in deep shit.
But apparently, those aren’t important enough to some people. No, some people prefer to hie themselves to the fainting couch over their hyperactive persecution fantasies. Take Mark Tapscott of the Washington Examiner, for instance:
People say you should never make small talk on politics or religion with mere acquaintances or strangers because those are topics about which many people have strongly held views that they don’t care to have challenged by just anybody.
It’s also long been the rule among prudent politicians with national aspirations to say nothing unkind about anybody’s religious faith. But the silence that has greeted Vice President Joe Biden’s use of “Jesus Christ” as an expletive in an on-the-record interview with The Wall Street Journal, suggests that such prudence has been tossed aside.
Biden isn’t the first nor will he be the last politician to abuse the name of the man revered for two millennia by Christians of every denomination as the Savior, the God-Man who created and sustains the universe, and who at His Second Coming will someday return to Earth to judge all men. Jesus Christ is, in short, a heavy dude, if He is indeed the dude He claimed to be.
For fuck’s sake, Mark, are you fucking shitting me?! Jesus H. Christ on a hockey stick, that’s lame! The country is crashing down around us and you want to fucking put the fucking Vice President before a fucking inquisition because he used a fucking colloquial epithet that just about every-fucking-body and his/her fucking dog uses?!
Wait, what’s that? You have more to say?
Biden’s uncorrected cursing is indicative of the slow strangling by the unrelenting forces of political correctness of the religious tolerance that is Christianity’s greatest gift to America.
Really, Mark? Religious tolerance is Christianity’s greatest gift to America? REALLY? So, Mark, is this what you mean by your vaunted “Christian tolerance of other points of view?”

What’s worse, this isn’t the first time Tapscott has slagged Biden over his remarks. In a July 25th article on the subject, Tapscott assailed the Vice President with just about every invective in the book. Only later did he pause to reflect on his remarks, and eventually updated the article to apologize to Biden. Not for indirectly calling him a Christophobe. No, that much is quite kosher with Tapscott. But for calling him a “dunce.” As he put it:
That was a cheap shot and I apologize to Mr. Biden for writing that.
Right. But accusing him of hate speech was completely above board.
I swear, the next time some conservative bitches about “Political Correctness gone amok” or some conservative shrieks about hate crimes legislation or Canada’s Human Rights Commissions, I will slap them upside the head with a printout of Mark Tapscott’s pearl-clutching screeds.

Hahahahaha!
I can’t believe the guy could actually write that article with a straight face… til I read some of the comments! Whoa! There’s a lot of them out there!

Yeah, and then to apologize - not for calling Biden a Christophobe, but for calling him stupid - well… that’s just contemptible.
