After they glue the anuses of homosexuals, they give them a drink that causes diarrhea. Since the anus is closed, the diarrhea causes death. Videos of this form of torture are being distributed on mobile cellphones in Iraq.”

You can bet that in the unlikely event that America degenerates into a theocracy, this will quickly become the norm for gays in this country. And you wonder why some people joke that the only reason why Christian conservatives hate Muslims is because conservative Muslims invented the burqa.

VATICAN CITY - The Vatican said Friday it has formally complained to the Israeli government about a private Israeli TV show that ridiculed and blasphemed Jesus and Mary.

In the program, the host farcically denied Christian traditions — that Mary was a virgin and that Jesus walked on water — saying he would do so as a “lesson” to Christians who deny the Holocaust.

It was a reference to the Vatican’s recent lifting of the excommunication of a bishop who denied 6 million Jews were killed during World War II. The rehabilitation sparked outrage among Jews.

Israelis went to the polls today, and if the early exit polls are any indication, Kadima — only slightly more sane than the Meir Kahane fan club known as Likud, looks likely to eke out a razor-thin victory. With the margin of victory so narrow, it may become necessary that Kadima form a coalition with one of the other parties in order to form a government. However, the really depressing story of the election is that Israel Beitenu — a party so far to the right that it makes Kach look pacifist by comparison, finished in third place, ahead of the “far-left loons” (by Israeli standards — in America, they’d find themselves very much at home among the DLC) in the Labor party.

As depressing as Israel’s far-rightward swing is, there is some potential for comedy gold. Kadima’s leader, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, is a woman. Cue the exploding of heads among the Haredi mamzerim in 3…2…1…

The people of Country A bomb ethnic population B, which is penned in without escape, and respond to the death of one of Country A’s citizens by killing 100 members of ethnic population B and injuring 1500 more. This is:

a) Self-defense

b) A massacre

c) Election time in Country A

d) It does not matter: U.S. defense contractors and other corporations benefit from the occupation.

Actually, the answer — at least in the eyes of wingnuts — is e) just a glorified episode of putting out the garbage.
