If you get to insist that Obama purge his administration of 9/11 Truthers (real and imagined), then can we insist that the next Republican president’s administration be free of Birth Certificate Truthers? Or is that different somehow?

hoosiermama: Read a copy of Larry Sinclair’s book this afternoon. Quick read. The list of character who attacked his character being names we see regularly and a few attached to Axelrod.

The only other thing that hit me was that Sinclair said BO was not circumcised. When my son was born in a hospital that was done as a matter of routine without even consulting us. Would the same be for Hawaii? OTOH People born at home or in some other cultures are not circumcised.

A relative of mine was born (in a hospital) a couple of years after BO’s alleged birth date. He was circumcised also (as a matter of routine, not according to any family request).

afraidfortherepublic: My son was born in June of 1961 in a hospital in CA, and the nurses released us because of miscommunication in a day and a half before the circumcision was done. We had to go back to the doctor’s office to have it done a week later, and the doctor was NOT HAPPY. My second son was born in the same hospital 4 years later. I don’t remember them asking me about it. Routine procedure for little boys.

hoosiermama: Wish we had someone to make a phone call to the hospitols in HI and askif they routinely do circumcism and when that practice started.

hoosiermama: If indeed Bo is intact, as Sinclair states, might this be another indication that he was born outside the US. (as young as he was in Seattle, she may have also left medical care before the procedure was done…There is a few days waiting period after birth. Varies with local medical staff.

It’s official. We are witnessing the *ahem* BIRTH of the Birther Caucus in Congress. Florida Republican Bill Posey’s Birther Bill, HR 1503, is now up to nine cosponsors — five of them from Texas.

Yes, you read me correctly.

HALF OF THE BIRTHER CAUCUS™ IS COMPRISED OF TEXANS.

Worse, one fine upstanding member of the Birther Caucus™ is Williamson County’s own John Carter, whose district I moved into last November (after the election). Upon discovering this fact about Rep. Carter, I felt compelled to write the following letter to him via his website.

Congressman Carter,

I am writing to you because I am concerned about your co-sponsorship of HR 1503. This bill serves no real purpose except to placate a fringe group of far right-wing kooks who believe in spite of all evidence to the contrary that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. Your co-sponsorship of this bill suggests that you agree with them on the “issue” of President Obama’s citizenship status.

I would strongly urge you to rescind your co-sponsorship of HR 1503. If you do not, I and others like me will make every effort to ensure that you are defeated in next year’s election.

Better get a bucket.
